Words and concepts such as epistemology, ontology, postmodernism, poststructuralism, metaphysics to mention but few are prevalent in most, if not all, of the scholarly papers you might lay your hands on. Trying to explain such words using a general dictionary will not take you anywhere .This is where a content-specialized platform such as Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy comes in handy.
Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy is a great website that provides detailed and peer-reviewed definitions and resources on everything related to the broad discipline of philosophy. As a PhD student, I use this resource repeatedly to help me with understanding the philosophic concepts I come across during my readings.
There are two ways to use Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy. You can either use the search box to search for concepts and authors you are interested in or browse the content by topic. Topics included in this encyclopedia are : History of Philosophy, Metaphysics and Epistemology, Philosophical Traditions, Science, Logic, and Mathematics, and Value Theory.
